Brass in the Ballpark

The Driller's embrace of the Tulsa Sound is a timely nod to the historical significance of Tulsa’s vibrant music scene and the world-class musicians who created it. King Cabbage’s ‘Brass in the Ballpark’ program will provide a unique music education experience for Tulsa’s next generation of gifted musicians. Brass in the Ballpark will be a two-week music camp from June 17th to June 30th for music students from grades eight through twelve that compliments the Tulsa Sound Weekend. The camp will take place from 1-3 pm and include two performances at ONEOK field during The Drillers game.

The curriculum will include instrument fundamentals, improvisation, New Orleans-style jazz performance, brass band ensemble, American music history, and the significant role of Oklahoma musicians. The camp will also include personalized tours of the Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie Centers. Brass in the Ballpark promises to be a golden opportunity for aspiring musicians to raise their level of skill and professionalism.
